Mahmudul Hoque came to the UK as a child and has lived in Luton ever since, having grown up and gone to school in the town. Today he is a technology leader, serving as Executive Director at J.P. Morgan. A husband and father of five, his work is grounded in faith, family and a long-term view of building something meaningful. He is keen to support fellow Muslim professionals and entrepreneurs across Luton through mentorship, collaboration and shared values.

Gulam is a Luton-born professional who studied in London and has built his career working with major blue-chip companies in the software sector. A father of three boys, his approach to life is rooted in faith, dedication to family, and a sincere intention to leave a positive impact. He brings a structured and professional approach to his work, with strong experience in stakeholder engagement and operational delivery. Through his involvement with LMBA, he is committed to supporting a simple, affordable, and dignified approach to burial, helping to ease the burden on families and encourage preparation for the Hereafter.

Ainul was born and raised in Luton. He is a graduate and Chartered Certified Accountant with a career in investment systems, currently working as a Product Consultant for an investment software firm. He is passionate about community initiatives, youth development, student support and Islamic finance. As a school governor, he is committed to education, community leadership and ensuring the next generation has the support and opportunities needed to thrive.

Afsar has deep roots in Luton's Muslim community and brings professional experience in leadership and change delivery from a career spanning investment banking, travel, tech and most recently satellite communications. Afsar has extensive experience across global organisations such as UBS, Amazon, Santander and TUI. He is currently the Data Platforms Lead at Eutelsat Group. As a husband and father of two, he is committed to ensuring LMBA operates transparently and serves families when they need it most.

Shahed Koyes is a Luton-based businessman who has built a strong reputation through his entrepreneurial success and dedication to his work. A father of six, his life is centred around family, faith, and a commitment to building something meaningful for the future. He is passionate about giving back to the community and supporting initiatives that benefit others. Through his involvement with LMBA, he is committed to helping provide a simple, affordable, and dignified approach to burial, easing the burden on families and encouraging preparation for the Hereafter.

Nazma Miah moved to the United Kingdom as a child and has been living in Luton since. She is married and has three children. Nazma currently works for Luton Council in the Accounting and Finance department. Prior to this role, she was involved in the community sector with Luton Council, where she developed extensive experience in supporting and delivering community projects.

Shohir Uddin is a proactive and highly experienced professional with 40 years of work across Luton Council, voluntary, and business sectors, delivering initiatives that create meaningful impact within the community. He has led and supported a wide range of projects, including neighbourhood governance, participatory budgeting, community media, and large-scale cultural events, as well as building strong partnerships across the voluntary and community sector. Bringing a solid foundation in project governance and community development, he plays a key role as an Executive Community Member, contributing valuable insight, leadership, and a deep commitment to serving the community through LMBA’s mission.

Having grown up and attended school in Luton, Shaheda has spent most of her life in the town and is passionate about supporting the local community. She works in the higher education sector, bringing experience in stakeholder engagement, project management and collaborative working. As a mother, she understands the importance of strong community support and is committed to helping ensure the Burial Association continues to provide a compassionate, valued service for families across Luton for generations to come.

For many decades since 1975, Bury Park Masjid has been at the forefront of serving the Muslim community in Luton, offering religious guidance, community support and trusted funeral services with compassion and professionalism. Its experience and dedication have made it a respected institution for families during their time of need. As a founding Committee Member of the Luton Muslim Burial Association (LMBA), Bury Park Masjid contributes to the strategic direction of the Association and holds one vote on committee decisions. The masjid appoints two representatives who actively participate in meetings, ensuring the practical experience of funeral provision helps shape LMBA's ongoing development. Working in partnership with LMBA as an Official Funeral Director, the masjid benefits from a streamlined payment process that enables approved burial costs to be settled promptly. This removes the burden of recovering payments from bereaved families, allowing the masjid to focus on delivering a dignified, compassionate and Shariah-compliant service when it matters most. Jalalabad Masjid has built a strong reputation for serving the spiritual and practical needs of the Luton Muslim community. Alongside its religious and educational work, the masjid provides dedicated funeral services, supporting families with care, respect and a commitment to Islamic values. As a Committee Member of the Luton Muslim Burial Association (LMBA), Jalalabad Masjid plays an important role in strengthening a community-led approach to burial support. Holding one vote on the committee, the mosque appoints two representatives who help guide the Association, ensuring its decisions remain focused on the needs of local Muslim families. The partnership between Jalalabad Masjid and LMBA creates a smoother experience for both families and the masjid. With LMBA managing the financial arrangements for approved burial costs, the masjid can concentrate on delivering funeral services and supporting loved ones through bereavement, confident that administrative and payment matters are handled efficiently and professionally.
